Biography
Chris
Peck the Town Crier is joking, seriously. He hasn’t
even changed his legal name to include his title, (though he
promised an audience he would, once.) But in each of his ridiculous
promises lies the threat that he might follow through on it.
This bread-crumb trail of promises has made him what he is:
a comet, or a quasar, alternately.
His current pursuits include:
- Solo performance, (of a minstrel persuasion:
incl. rap, tap dance, beatbox, multi-instrumentalism, songs,
juggling, hambone, ballet, sight gags, and dreadful technology!)
- Recording an Album, (an anachronistic
music form that fell off in the early 20th century during
the ascent of cellular and internet communication, and
the descent of hard copy listening mediums). It’ll be called GROUNDHOG’S
DAY, and features his rhyming over live arrangements of
American music forms.
- Medusa
Pound: an R&B collective
coming out of the Bay Area, with multiple vocalists and
writers. At present, the crew includes Greg Scott2, Angeline
Saris, Chris, and a rotating cast of baaad mutha suckaz.
- The Crystal Beat Family- A nascent
all-percussion and voice crew, which plans to disturb what
passes for PEACE in public America, replacing it with an
older embodiment of PEACE. Our name is tentative. More
about this to come in the blogg.
- Guitar
and Rock Band Lessons: In
Marin County and San Francisco I’m available
for private and group lessons in guitar.
With the exception of a five year spell
in New York City from ’98
to ’03, Chris has lived in the Bay Area all his life.
Apart from his own projects, he’s collaborated or worked
as a support player with Joe Murhpy, David
Gluck, Alia Marie,
Fulani Hart, and Amy Cooper, among others.
